49ers vs Rams Live Score, Updates, NFL Week 18 Game Highlights

The Rams have already clinched the NFC West title and a playoff berth heading into Week 18. The first year of the Matthew Stafford era in Los Angeles has gone rather well, with Stafford posting a career-high 67.3 % of his assists this season and his 38 touchdowns are the second most of his career.

But there’s one hurdle the Rams have struggled to overcome in recent history, whether it’s Stafford or his predecessor Jared Goff under center. Sean McVay’s side recently battled the 49ers, which bodes well for San Francisco.

Dating back to October 2019, the 49ers have won five in a row against the Rams, but this week’s contest is one of the most important meetings as the 49ers need to win to qualify for the playoffs, which they haven’t done since 2019 when they got to the Super Bowl.

San Francisco is set to start Jimmy Garoppolo as quarterback after missing a recovery from a torn thumb ligament last week while the Rams are in perfect health with no player receiving an injury designation on the final report of the team’s injury on Friday.

So far this season, San Francisco has ranked 13th in offense and 10th in total offense, 12th in defense and fourth in total defense. That means it will be a one-off clash, with the Rams ranking ninth in offense and sixth in all-out offense.
