Adjustable dumbbells can be incredibly useful in a home gym, but the need to manually change the weight can be overwhelming when trying to maintain your heart rate mid-workout. IFit’s NordicTrack badge might have a solution: let Alexa do the work. The brand has introduced ISelect adjustable dumbbells that can use an Alexa-enabled third-party device to quickly adjust the weight from 5 to 50 lbs (in 5 lbs increments) using a motorized dial. You can set exact weights, adjust the weight in relative amounts, or call up presets for typical exercises like bicep curls and deadlifts.
Dumbbells are unsurprisingly intended to perform well with iFit’s $ 39 per month fitness membership, but you don’t need the membership. There’s even a tablet stand on the weight tray for you to use your own display and service. This can make sense if space is limited or if you prefer not to monopolize the TV.
NordicTrack dumbbells are available now on Amazon for $ 429. It’s expensive compared to many conventional adjustable sets, but you might not mind if the speed of the adjustments is more important than the price. We add that some adjustable sets don’t offer this level of flexibility – the 5lb changes could help you support heavier weights over time.
