Are there any Premier League games this weekend? When are the next EPL matches?

While other leagues in England are barely gearing up after the winter break, the Premier League is on a brief hiatus and is not in action on the weekend of January 7-9.

The Premier League clubs, however, continue to take the field.

It’s time for the FA Cup third round in England, and so this weekend will see each Premier League and Championship team face their first FA Cup game of the season. With the first two levels scheduled for National Cup competition, league play will be forced to take a break.

But fans won’t have to wait too long for the next EPL game: There are a few rescheduled games from December’s COVID-related postponements that see the league actually resuming a few days earlier than originally planned.

Three rescheduled Premier League matches will take place between Tuesday 11 January and Wednesday 12 January. They will be quickly followed by a full 22 match week on the weekend of January 14-16.

When are the next Premier League matches?

Following the FA Cup third round weekend with 32 games on the line across England, the Premier League will once again take center stage with several key showdowns at both ends of the table.

Action resumes with three of the 17 matches that have been postponed due to COVID-19 outbreaks among the teams. This midweek offer is followed by a full roster to play over three weekend days and highlighted by a massive clash between Manchester City and Chelsea that could cause the title race to explode.
