Arturia unveils ‘Noir’ editions of its famous MiniBrute synths

Arturia launched Brute Noire editions of its popular midrange monophonic synths, the MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2S. He also launched a limited edition Brute Noir of his DrumBrute Impact analog drum machine. All versions are all black rather than gray, so they may appeal to musicians who want that aesthetic or the exclusivity of a limited edition model.

As a reminder, the MiniBrute 2 is a semi-modular monophonic synth as it has a decently sized patch bay to redirect the synth signal, but it can also produce sounds right out of the box. Other features include a pair of VCOs, two LFOs, and the 25-note velocity-sensitive keyboard with aftertouch and dual-oscillator Brute Voice. The MiniBrute 2s doesn’t have the keyboard but offers a 64-step sequencer for “classic synth workflow and punchy Brute character”.

DrumBrute Impact, on the other hand, is Arturia’s entry-level 10-voice analog drum machine. It is modernized with “gnarly FM”, says Arturia, as well as polyrhythmic sequencing and a built-in distortion circuit. Arturia did not reveal a specific price for the Brute Noir editions prior to publication, but the MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2s models cost $ 499, while the standard DrumBrute is $ 299 on Amazon.
