Bob Saget’s ‘Full House’ Co-Star Jodie Sweetin Explains How Fans Can Continue Her Legacy Of ‘Giving To Others’

Jodie Sweetin shares how fans can continue Bob Saget’s legacy of “giving back.”

Sweetin, 39, took to her Instagram Story on Friday, the same day Saget was laid to rest, to share a donation fund set up by the Scleroderma Research Foundation in which Saget was heavily involved.

“If you would like to honor @bobsaget today, consider making a donation below. Bob has worked tirelessly for @srfcure,” Sweetin shared with his 2.4 million Instagram followers.

“Please help his legacy of giving to others by donating and sharing,” she added.

Scleroderma is the disease that claimed the life of his sister Gay in 1994. Saget was a tireless defender for those who fight the disease, constantly organize charity events and serve on the board of directors of the Scleroderma Research Foundation. On several occasions, he noted how determined he was to find a cure after being personally affected by the disease.

On Friday, the foundation published an article about Saget’s work, saying it was “incredibly touched as we witness the healing power of philanthropy.”

Also on Friday, Sweetin and her “Full House” co-stars Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin attended Saget’s funeral at Mt. Sinai Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood Hills, Calif. .

According to reports, 300 people attended the ceremony. Comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Jeff Ross were in attendance, along with several other stars, including John Mayer, Jimmy Kimmel, Kathy Griffin, Stamos’ wife Caitlin McHugh and Loughlin’s husband Mossimo Giannulli.

Earlier in the week, Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on “Full House,” took to Instagram to share a lengthy note praising her on-screen dad.

“There aren’t enough words to express how I feel today. Nor are they big enough to capture even a part of who he was,” Sweetin began. his statement on Instagram.

She echoed Barber’s sentiments about Saget, noting that they “never miss an opportunity to say ‘I love you’ to each other.” She also shared that he helped her discover new music, comedians and more that shaped her taste in pop culture.

“The hundreds of jokes we’ve all had, the kind only a family knows and no one else will ever understand or think is funny. He was a really kind spirit who went through so much in his life, and was happiest when he helped others.”

The actress concluded her statement on Saget’s death by dusting off her catchphrase of “Full House.”

John Stamos also shared a joint statement on behalf of the cast, writing, “Thirty-five years ago we came together as a TV family, but we’ve become a real family. And now we mourn as a family”, the tribute to comedian and actor started.
