Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was overcome with emotion during a FaceTime call he had with a five-year-old fan who is battling an aggressive brain tumor.
The actor took to Instagram this week to share the sweet moment he met the “very special little boy” named Jett.
Johnson, who is known to go the extra mile for his fans, especially those dealing with health concerns, wrote that Jett had been diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), which he described as a “Very aggressive inoperable brain tumor that occurs almost exclusively in young children.”
Johnson said the survival rate for a person with DIPG is eight to 11 months. It has the ability to shut down a person’s ability to “walk, talk, smile and ultimately breathe – while leaving the mind completely intact,” the star told her 288 million followers.
Jett underwent 30 rounds of radiation without sedation and lost the ability to speak. He uses his thumbs up or down to respond to things, Johnson said. Johnson said he was lucky enough to FaceTime Jett and his family three weeks ago.

“Jett, I want you to know buddy, it’s so good to meet you. I’ve heard so much about you, and I’ve heard the most amazing things about you. Honestly, this is the best. part of my day, ”the former wrestler star tells Jett in the clip.
“I was working today and doing a TV show. Her name is ‘Young Rock’ and I couldn’t wait to see you, talk to you and finally meet you,” Johnson continues before holding up a piece of paper. . “Look, this goes on and on. There’s all these amazing things here about you. Really, that makes my day. Thank you so much for even giving me time to say hello and meet you.”
Jett was sitting on the couch with family members when his mother told Johnson how “proud” she was of the five-year-old’s fight. She also thanked the actor for “shedding light” on his family during the dark days.
“You have a special son,” Johnson responded. He was visibly emotional and apologized after stopping to collect himself.

In his Instagram caption, the actor said he spoke to a lot of children and adults fighting for their lives, but his time with Jett touched him a lot.
“And usually I have my bullshit together – usually I’m strong in the moment. Strong for kids and parents. I keep it together. But this time when I was saying to Jett’s mom and dad, Larisa and Manny how special Their son is… I just had to take a break. Too emotional to talk. All I could understand was “I’m sorry,” “Johnson wrote.
Johnson, a father of three, said he believed Jett’s story struck a chord because the boy was the same age as his daughter. He said his FaceTime call with Jett came on the same day he “hopped on a plane home just in time to put my baby girl, Jazzy in bed” on his birthday.
“She was the same age as Jett. I guess that’s why it all hit me,” he continued.

Johnson learned that Jett considered him a “superhero”. But the actor said he thought Jett was “much stronger, braver and nicer than I ever will be.”
He concluded that it was “a PRIVILEGE” to talk to Jett and that the little boy is “SO STRONG that [he] has SUPER POWER just by giving it a boost. “
