In LaMelo Ball’s opener in Milwaukee, the Bucks’ seven-game winning streak was in jeopardy.
The Hornets held their biggest lead of 18 early in the second quarter, after going 41-25 in the first quarter. However, the defending champions fought back and leveled things at the end of the third quarter.
What ensued was a back-and-forth battle with all nine draws and 13 lead changes in the final 14:30 minutes of the game.
This led to a crazy nine-second final, including a winning attempt by Miles Bridges over halfway.
Ultimately, the Bucks survived thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s clutch pose. Antetokounmpo’s nearly 40-point triple-double (12 rebounds, nine assists) helped the team overcome LaMelo Ball’s showcase of 36 points and nine assists.
The 127-125 victory is Milwaukee’s eighth in a row since the team returned to full health, with the exception of starting center Brook Lopez.
Their back-to-back wins have included close wins like this and beating the Los Angeles Lakers, but other than those, the Bucks have absolutely outscored their opponents by winning those games on average. 13.3 point margin at the top of the league.
That streak helped them bounce back into the top half of the Eastern standings after starting the season 6-8 in the first 14 games.

Their current journey is still quite a distance from the franchise’s best winning streaks – 20 in the 1970-71 season and 18 in the 2019-2020 season.
That said, given the team’s flexible schedule in December, this healthy side could go undefeated through December. Here’s a look at their upcoming games in the month:
|December 2||at Raptors|
|December 4||against the heat|
|December 6||against the horsemen|
|December 8||to heat|
|December 11||in Knicks|
|December 13||among the Celtics|
|December 15||vs Pacers|
|December 17th||in New Orleans|
|December 18||against the horsemen|
|December 22||against rockets|
|23 december||among nonconformists|
|December 25th||against the Celtics|
|December 28||to magic|
|December 30||to magic|
Of the 15 games ahead, the Bucks have five games against rebuilding franchises in the Rockets, Magic and Pelicans. Then they will face the Heat twice – a team would be without their big start in Bam Adebayo.
Then, given the team’s full health, there are some very winnable games against teams like the Pacers, Celtics (twice), Raptors, Cavaliers (twice), Mavericks and Knicks.
